what is im keller?

The phrase im Keller is German for in the basement - which is really a description of where our ministry is, both in terms of physical location and in it's fundamental development. The campus house we are located in on the campus of Eberhard-Karls in Tübingen consists of four floors of which the basement and first floor have been given to Globalscope to use for our central location. You can read more about the house here.

But our ministry is also in it's foundational stages. Our long-term team of campus ministers and our exchange students are working hard to build a core community of German students, but a successful campus ministry anywhere in the world requires a huge team of prayer and support beyond what a team of ministers can do alone. As we, the Globalscope Germany team, work here in Tübingen, we hope you will consider helping us to build our ministry into a community of university students who love Christ and want to share that love.

the town

The university town of Tübingen brings together the traditional European style with the fast pace of modern urban life. Tübingen is not only a town but an international community and a gateway to the rest of Europe. In the town of 85,000, there are 24,000 students who live, study, and work trying to intersect their hopes and dreams with the future of Europe and the world. In this academic atmosphere there is a need for a community that provides a message of hope in Christ.

the mission

In 2008, a CMF-Globalscope team of campus ministers arrived in Tübingen. Since then, the growing team has worked to build community with the university students through friendship, weekly fellowship, outreach activities to the campus, and sports. Exchange students and interns from the USA and around the world join them each semester to participate in a growing community. Our goal is to one day engage the students in retreats, one-on-one Bible study and leadership groups.

unterwegs

We invite you to follow along with our activities via our frequently-updated student website at www.unterwegstu.com, but be warned: just like our work here in the ministry, the student site is entirely in German.
